Credit Reports

Credit reports help a lot of people to successfully improve their credit scores and keep in touch with your financial situation. If you are planning on getting a mortgage, credit card or car loan, you will need to know what is stated in your credit report. But not everyone knows the best way to obtain their credit reports and not fall for some scam.

Did you know that every person has rights to request and receive his free credit report without any additional costs? You can request your credit report from 3 major credit report agencies, such as: TransUnion, Equifax and Experian. You can request your report for free every 12 months. Bear in mind, if you have been recently denied for a credit, you are eligible to get a copy of your credit report file absolutely for free. Even though these credit bureaus work pretty much the same, we suggest that you request your report from each of the three companies. This free credit report will have a lot of financial information related to you, including: current and past debts, payment history, foreclosures, bankruptcies, etc. You will not find FICO scores in these reports, unless you pay an additional fee.

Once you request your report it will usually take up to 10 days for it to get delivered. If you need it faster, you may want to pay additional fee and get a report with FICO scores in it. It is obvious that even bankers can make mistakes, so always check credit report for any false data or inaccuracies and immediately notify your credit about them. If you do not have a lot of free time to check credit report, you can always hire a certified credit repair specialist, but it will cost you additional money.
